What the Hall

2022

Prestonwood, East Dallas, Texas

Full-Home Furnishings

A move from starter home to forever home marked the beginning of What the Hall, a furnishings-focused transformation designed to match the scale and longevity of a new chapter for a family of four. The existing pieces no longer reflected the proportions, or the permanence, of the home, so every space was thoughtfully re-outfitted with furnishings selected to grow with the family over time.

Custom dry bar cabinetry was introduced to display a carefully curated whisky collection, blending practical storage with intentional showcase moments. Built-ins and concealed storage solutions bring order to everyday life, while newly added archways create subtle architectural transitions between rooms, offering definition without closing off connection. Updated lighting throughout enhances cohesion and warmth, elevating the experience of each space.

Anchoring the living area is a black vintage chair passed down from the homeowner’s grandfather—a meaningful heirloom that grounds the design in history while the surrounding furnishings carry it confidently into the next generation.
