In Little Elm That Could, a long-loved home was reimagined for a couple who believe gathering is an art form. Their brief set the tone from the start: “We want it to feel like a hunting lodge—without the taxidermy.” After years of saving for the right moment, they were ready to transform a choppy, dimly lit layout into a home designed for hosting, tailgating, and everyday connection.
We extended the kitchen to the front of the house, allowing it to anchor the dining and living spaces with ease, and added windows to frame the fireplace and flood the interiors with natural light. The primary suite was reworked into a true retreat, complete with a fireplace, seating area, and integrated laundry—thoughtfully designed to feel both indulgent and practical. Throughout the home, layered textures and moody tones create warmth and depth, while a custom hunter green plaid banquette sits beneath a gallery wall of fish caught by the homeowner himself. The result is personal, inviting, and unmistakably theirs—a forever gathering place built around the life they love to live.
