A home once purchased for newlywed life, Party of Seven was thoughtfully expanded to support a family of seven who loved their neighborhood too much to leave. With five children, two cats, and toys steadily overtaking a three-bedroom layout, the goal was clear: create room to grow without losing the character that made the house feel like home.
We designed and constructed a second-story addition above the garage, introducing a dedicated playroom where imagination could unfold freely, along with a private primary suite that finally gave mom and dad a retreat of their own. A new mudroom and powder bath were seamlessly integrated into the garage expansion—an addition the family hadn’t originally requested, but one that quickly proved indispensable to daily life. Throughout the home, durable, family-friendly materials were selected to withstand real living while maintaining a sense of creativity and warmth. The hero of the project is the custom mosaic tile in the primary ensuite—co-designed with the homeowner, a graphic designer herself—bringing artistry, personality, and a touch of boldness to a space that now feels entirely their own.
