Not every home begins with strong bones and character. My Cup of Tea was a second-floor renovation designed to transform a builder-grade home into something far more personal and reflective of the family who lives there. After a few DIY updates that hadn’t held up over time, the goal was clear: create spaces that felt intentional, elevated, and aligned with their busy, evolving lifestyle.
The primary suite was reimagined to function more beautifully and efficiently, with expanded storage, a refined bath layout, and a custom closet that leans modern glam. An underutilized corner was converted into a private home gym, offering space to recharge without leaving the suite. Throughout, a palette of black, white, white oak, and moody green introduced contrast and depth, while statement tile moments added personality and polish.
For the children, the renovation created room to grow. A former playroom became a tween “lounge,” thoughtfully designed in collaboration with its young owner—complete with her requested “fuzzy chandelier.” By reworking layouts and carving out a dedicated office off the foyer, the home now supports both work and play with intention. The result is a space that feels curated, functional, and distinctly their own.
